violinmaking courses for the "Escuela de Música Papageno" in Villarica (Chile).
2013 - 2015 Villarica (Chile)
Violin making course and setting up a violin maker's atelier in Villarica.
The "Escuela de Música Papageno" was founded by the Austrian singer Christian Boesch and offers music classes to approximately 600 students. The school relies entirely on private sponsors. Underprivileged students are given music lessons free of charge. Moreover the school's music teachers also go to the surrounding villages to teach the children of the native people ("Mapuche"), who have until now rarely had access to any education.
The aim of the 2. violin making course was to enable the ongoing maintenance of the many stringed instruments in the area.
Moreover we supported the students participating masterclasses of Heidi Litschauer, Cello (Salzburg) and Jutta Puchhammer, Viola (Montreal). We also started to build a new instrument, which we hope to finish at the next course in November 2015.
In 2015 the course will take place in March and November
